Overweight, obesity and diabetes are complex, multifactorial health issues that involve public, private and social sectors, as well as the individual.

The Strategy for Overweight, Obesity and Diabetes Prevention and Control promotes the creation of public policies on healthy eating habits and physical activity.

Moreover, in order to promote these behaviors at state level, and complement National Strategy actions, strategies by state for overweight, obesity and diabetes prevention and control were simultaneously launched, as part of the International Self-Care Day, on July 24th 2014.
