The answer is yes. As we know, obesity is a complex health issue with a high prevalence on the worldwide population. This is because people try to relax and counteract stress by consuming this type of food that makes them feel good. Therefore, it is considered a factor that contributes to develop obesity.

- Get enough sleep: have a sleep routine in which you get at least 7 to 8 hours per night, making an effort to remove any distraction that could affect a proper rest
- Be active: doing any form of physical activity such as going for a walk, cycling or swimming helps to reduce stress levels
- Practice relaxation techniques: meditation, yoga or tai chi are highly recommended.
- Seek support: relying on family and friends can help you to spend a moment free from daily stress
- Go to therapy: a mental health professional, as a psychologist, can help identify the conditions and situations that cause stress
Following these recommendations contribute to make better decisions on the diet, as they help to pay more attention to food and control the impulse to overeat. It is important to learn how to recognize the situations or conditions that cause continuous stress, in order to change our lifestyle.
